The qualifiers are held in June and July each year so there is
plenty of time for improvement! We would, however, recommend that
even for the Novice competitions, you and your mount have some previous
experience of riding show jumping or dressage tests in a competitive
environment and that you should be prepared to attend any team training
events run by the club.
We can field as many teams as there are candidates. Novice team
members who ride a Prelim dressage test are automatically entered
as individuals, so you get two chances to qualify. For the Open
level, three team members ride three different Novice tests and
one member rides an Elementary test. We would particularly like
to hear from anyone who would be able to compete at this level and
be prepared to ride on the team.
The club runs a variety of flatwork and jumping clinics, so why
not take advantage of these to raise your game.
All members who wish to represent the club in a team or individual
competition will be required to pay their own entry fees and traveling
expenses. The Club will pay the affiliation fee to BRC on team members’
behalf.
Members should be aware that they will be expected to be prepared
to travel to the Championships or Finals if they qualify.
Flu Vaccination Regulations
David Gabriel has kindly offered to check the validity of vaccination
certificates of the Club members. Members who hope to enter teams
should send a photocopy of their 'flu vaccination certificate to
Janet Watts who will arrange to have it checked.
If you are interested in being considered for any of the above teams,
please contact Helen Woodgate or Andrea Newton (SJ/XC) or Jean Frape
or Nicky Davis (Dressage) for further details.
